Air Purifiers
Approximately 40% of the total ammonia emission discharged by agriculture comes from livestock buildings. Odour and ammonia emission from these buildings present a major problem for the immediate neighbours and surrounding natural habitats.
When Danish authorities are reviewing applications for new livestock buildings as well as expansion of already existing productions they today take into consideration the potential ammonia and odour emissions’ risk.
Consequently there has in recent years been focus on developing techniques, which are able to purify ventilation air from the livestock buildings before it is discharged. Among others have plants been developed, which is purifying the air in the livestock building of ammonia and odour with the aid of sulphuric acid, biological filters, ozone or water. |
